Logan County Criminal and Civil Records
The Logan County Circuit Court Clerk's Office is primarily responsible for establishing and maintaining all records of the court and the official court seal for the 11th Judicial Circuit. Include a fee of $15 in the form of a Check or money order payable to "Logan County Clerk", and a government-issued photo ID. Alternatively, one may contact the Illinois Department of Public Health to obtain an informational copy of a marriage record known as a Marriage Verification. Information found in a marriage verification include names, dates of birth, date of event, and city/county of event. Requesters are required to provide a completed Application for Verification of Marriage Record Files, a government-issued photo ID, and a fee of $5. Requests can be made by mail, by fax, or in person.
Logan County Divorce Records
The Logan County Circuit Clerk's Office maintains records of divorce cases filed within the county. Interested persons may request a Logan County divorce record by sending a fax or writing a search request along with the party's full name (with the middle initial) and the date of birth. Requests may be sent to the Logan County Circuit Clerk along with a fee of $5.00 per year. Information needed prior to 1990 is available by mail. Information needed after 1990 is available online.
Logan County Birth Records
The Logan County Clerk's Office is primarily in charge of maintaining and issuing Logan County vital records such as birth certificates. Only approved individuals are legally permitted to obtain birth certificates under Illinois State Law (410 ILCS 535-Vital Records Act). Individuals eligible to obtain a birth certificate include the subject named on the certificate which must be 18 or above, the subject's parents, legal guardians, a legal representative, or a court order.
To request a Logan County birth record, complete and submit the Request Form for a Birth Certificate to the Clerk's Office. Requesters must provide a government-issued photo ID and a fee of $15 and $4 for each additional copy.
Requests for Logan County birth certificates may also be submitted to the IDPH Division of Vital Records via regular mail. Eligible requesters may complete and submit the Application for Illinois Birth Record form.
Requests typically require a processing time of approximately 12 weeks from the time a paperwork has been filed. There is a $10 fee for the first copy of a birth certificate and $2 for each additional copy of the same certificate requested.
Logan County Death Records
Death records serve as formal death documentations and may be required to settle insurance claims and estates. Eligible requesters may obtain a death certificate by completing and submitting the Request Form for a Death Certificate to the county's Clerk's Office along with a government-issued photo ID and a fee of $17 and $6 for each additional copy. One may also request a death record from the IDPH Division of Vital Records by completing and submitting the Application for Illinois Death Record. Requests may be made online, via mail, or via fax.
Logan County Probate Court Records
Records of probate cases filed in the county are kept by the Logan County Circuit Clerk's Office. Interested parties can obtain a Logan County probate record by faxing or writing a search request with the party's entire name (including the middle initial) and birthdate.
